Caiaphus Hits The Airwaves
Posted by Zodiac on 15 July 2010
Tonight, on WPXG, a local AM-band public radio station (the kind where anyone with enough money can get an hour of time), the usual late night mix of heavy metal and goth music, spun into a techno-ish mix by the rather untalented DJ Karawax does not air. In it’s place is the following broadcast…a new show, it appears, has come on the airwaves. The man speaks with a rich baritone, and cultured tones. There’s a slight accent, hard to place…something European, perhaps.

Explosion Rocks Historic Site on Christmas Eve
Posted by Zodiac on 25 December 2009
The excavation of a long-since destroyed and supposedly haunted historical landmark in Pittsburgh was the site of tragedy Christmas Eve as a natural gas containment tank exploded, killing eight people and injuring three others.

A police spokesperson said that an investigation is ramping up into the cause of the explosion, which happened at the former site of the Congelier Mansion. The excavation, which was to make way for construction of a new womens' shelter, was being headed up by a local construction company on behalf of New Hope LLC. New Hope spokesman Dominic Joyner called the incident "a terrible, horrible accident" and denied any wrongdoing or negligence on the part of his business or the construction company. All three survivors are said to be in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital.

The Congelier Manson was located in the Chateau neighborhood of Pittsburgh's north city area. The house existed from 1871 until its destruction in 1927--ironically, due to the explosion of a natural gas eruption. The tank at the time, which was nearly 5,000,000 cubic feet, erupted in an exposion that was said to be felt throughout Allegheny County. Twenty-eight people were killed in that accident and three hundred were injured; only the Congelier Mansion was destroyed beyond repair.
Grand Elder Chosen

rabiaa The word quickly goes out throughout the sept, and, moreover, the Garou Nation. The leadership of the Three Rivers sept has finally been chosen. Eric Salmon-Eater is the new Grand Elder. He does not want any celebration, and has said that anyone leading anything more than a mild toast will be hung by their ankles from the trees in the clearing while his new students practice summoning mosquito-spirits. He will continue performing his duties as Ritemaster until such a time as another can be elevated.
Deadly Gas Station Fire Claims Ten

(a fragment from a local underground news blog report...)

...A fire outside at a service station twenty miles from Pittsburgh has claimed at least ten people, but anonymous state police sources claim that it it could be weeks before an accurate death toll could be determined, due to the condition of the bodies. Some appear to have been torn apart from the force of the explosion that consumed the rest of the station, while others appear to have been attacked by an animal. Police say that arson appears to have been the cause of the fire...

One person appears to have escaped from the deadly blaze and made it into the surrounding woods, but apparently succumbed to his or her injuries. Only blood was found, and the surrounding area was surrounded by the tracks of what appear to be large wolves...
