House Rule Notes No attribute can be taken above level 4 at creation without the use of freebie points and detailed explanation in the submitted history. ((ie. If you want your character to have Strength 5, for instance, this will require the spending of 3 dots from the 7/5/3 allocation to raise Strength to level 4, and then 5 freebie points to gain the 5th level rating.) No ability can be taken above level 3 at creation without the use of freebie points and a detailed explanation in the submitted history. ((Abilities can be taken at a rating of 4 and 5 at creation, but these ratings must be purchased through freebie points rather than the 13/9/5 points allocation.) These cost as per the source book they appear in, but it is necessary to have at least a level 1 aptitude in the primary ability that they derive from. The initial allocation of 3 disciplines must be taken from disciplines that are native to the character's clan. (ie. Brujah have 3 points to allocate between Celerity, Potence and Presence). Out-of-clan disciplines can be taken at the character creation stage, but these must be purchased with freebie points. The only out-of-clan disciplines that are available are those that are shared by two or more other general clans, with the exception of Necromancy, Obtenebration, and Sorcerery / Thaumaturgy. All characters looking to take an out-of-clan disciplines at the character creation stage must have a strong history which supports the discipline held. At creation, no out-of-clan discipline can have a rating higher than the rating of the lowest clan discipline or zero. (ie. All characters with a non-clan discipline must have a rating of at least 1 in their three clan disciplines) Generation is capped at 8 for PCs, though it is envisaged that the majority of characters will have a generation of 10-12. Influences are limited in the setting and must be approved by STs. Clan / Sect status must be gained IC, and is granted at the sole discretion of the STs. These can be increased above the initial dots allocation at the cost of one dot for every 2 freebie points spent. Flaws will be limited to a maximum of 7 points. Any flaws taken beyond this level must be with the express approval of the STs & cannot be used to contribute freebie points to the sheet. Merits available for purchase at creation will be limited to 15 points, though additional merits (if suitable) may be purchased as a result of IC activities with the use of XP. At the commencement of the game as a whole, it is not seen as desirable to restrict or ban any merits or flaws. This does not mean that all merits and flaws will automatically be approved, and if this dispensation is perceived to be abused then it will be reconsidered.
