1800. Pittsburgh is a provincial, though growing settlement, largely open-house as far as the kindred are concenrned, without any one clan or faction having dominance in the city's affairs.

1816. Control becomes a little more focussed as the newly incorporated city gains a Primogen council with a "figure-head" (Gangrel) Prince to act as the voice of their declarations. This move is mirrored by increased affluency in the world of the kine.

1861. The advent of the American Civil War acted as a Camarilla shield to mask the loss of the city into Sabbat hands. The takeover was a bloody affair with Kindred extermination parties roaming the streets, hunting down any and all that they could find.

1877. The Sabbat held the city for a period of 16 years, whilst the Camarilla bided their time, amassing their forces, and waiting for the right time to launch their counterstrike to reclaim the city as their own. When it happened, the violence was covered by a spate of civil revolt and disobedience during late July and early August, the shortened nights allowing the Camarilla to utilise their ghouls to maximum effect. Whilst the appointed Prince came from the Toreador clan, she was accompanied and assisted by a Ventrue by the name of Samuel Johnson, who was to act as her Senschal and advisor.

1892. Samuel, having been working arduously during the last 15 years, used one of his ghouls to start, and then dissipate, the Homestead Strike and the civil disobedience that it caused, undermining the control of the Toreador Prince, and revealing the tenuous hold that she had over the city. Samuel moves from one ghoul to another ghoul he had positioned close enough to influence Andrew Carnegie. Over time he utilised the supposed benevolence of the latter's associate to create influence over the populace, and cement his position in the city, as he rose from Senschal to Prince. The advent of industrialisation and union activity led to an influx of Brujah into the city.

1911. The city's prosperity becomes dependent upon iron and steel for its very existence and economic success. Samuel's influence over both industries means that he has the kindred and kine worlds in a stranglehold.

1921 - 1937 The Cathedral of Learning is built within the grounds of the University of Pittsburgh, and this comes to be used as the Camarilla's primary Elysia. The building is like Samuel himself, ostentacious and brash, and an investment that pays for itself many times over with the admittance fees that the populace are charged to access it. The growth in the university acts to attract a number of the Tremere clan who choose to make it their base of operations.

1946 - 1973 The city's civic leaders and Mayor make slow progress in making the city habitable after the sustained period of industrialisation. Samuel wasn't bothered about employment conditions, seeing the workers as a commodity to be utilised and exploited, like the steel that his empire was built upon. During this time, the city experiences an influx of Malkavians and Toreadors.

1975. Increased pressure on the steel industry, reduced profitability as alternative materials are used, and poor labour relations are suffered.

1985. Pittsburgh is a city in decline, and Samuel is living off his past achievements. He holds his position through a mix of power and fear, always thwarting the ambitions of any who would challenge him.
